DO-IT-YOURSELF VIDEO TIPS

VOTE FOR Lyndsey. You just watched her audition above!

Today, we’d like to fill you in on a few steps to keep in mind when going it alone as far as video production is concerned. First, write a good script. If you don’t have good content your audience WANTS to hear, as well as the corresponding visuals to accompany it, then the rest of these tips won’t do you any good. So spend some time planning your message.

Next, keep it short and provide a strong and clear call to action at the conclusion. Reinforce your audio message with on screen titles that include your contact information, social media and website access points.

Distribute your video thoroughly. Use your newsletter, email, and social media resources, all of which can be done for free if you’re willing to put in some time. Don’t forget to upload to video sites like vimeo, youtube and facebook. Remember, simply placing a video on your website won’t cut it these days. You need a finished video format that is compatible with online distribution and don’t forget MOBILE marketing for all those tablet and smart phone users.

It’s a changing world and information is moving faster than ever before, so be sure to keep your audience engaged with consistent video features at least monthly.

The worst thing you can do when starting a business video, or any project, is to start without a plan. The first step towards creating a successful video is to plan everything in advance, everything. A good place to start is to know the environment you are working in; this will be crucial for planning the entire video, because it is all in the details. From each word in the script, to notes on how your actor will enter and move throughout the video; do not shy away from making sure that everyone knows where they are supposed to go and exactly what they are saying. Also, do not underestimate the importance of having the right person in front of the camera. The person on camera is responsible for conveying your message to the audience, so be sure that they are engaging and personable. In order to make a successful video, it all starts with a plan.

DISS & DAT: TAKE YOUR VIDEO THE DISTANCE

Do not believe that you have limited channels to post your video to. MOST of all, do not think that just posting your video to your website is going to do wonders for your exposure. Do some research and discover some marketing channels that you didn’t know were available, and fill them up with your content.
